Melina has had a habit recently of trying to negotiate when she doesn't like what she is hearing.

Like:

Dad "What would you like for breakfast sweetheart"?
Melina "Ice Keems"
Dad "We don't eat ice keems for breakfast, only as a treat. How about cereal"?
Melina "Ice Keems, how about a yes?"
Dad "No"
Melina "How about a yes?"
Dad "no"

etc...

Hi Everybody.

I had a very nice day today. I woke up and I had some cereal with my papa. Then my mom took me to baby buffalos. Then my poppa picked me up and I was so dirty from playing outside. My papa calls baby buffalos, baby mudholes.

Anyway, my papa is blogging my first draft Christmas list for the 2007 Christmas season. "Blogging". That is a funny word. So is "Poo Poo".

1. I need a rain jacket santa
2. Also, I need some red crocs (size 7-8)
3. I need an xbox 360 with guitar hero 3
4. I need some PJs, size 4t
5. Music cds suitable for a tiny tulip
6. Books
7. Clothes, well, more like outfits. Size 3 - 4t
8. Toddler-sized Dora backpack
9. Halo 3 for Xbox 360

My favorite new Melina trick this week:

I'm trying to teach Mel how to spell her name. Whenever she is drawing with her crayons I'll spell out M-E-L-I-N-A for her. But I'm not finished. She will always say "Jumpin J Papa, Jumpin J". She makes me put a J after her name.

She got the "daddy falls down" part right after this shot was taken. The expression on her face is worth a million $$$.

Springtime is almost upon us in Fairfax! The trees are blooming, and there are already little figs on the fig tree!

We took Melina out for her first ice cream cone this afternoon at fairfax scoop.

Melina is really in to stickers right now, especially her little happy face stickers.

I bought Melina's first car today :)

She is going to flip Christmas morning!

Dear Santa Claus,

Last month I went to Yosemite and my Nona taught me all about you. I saw you in the gift shop at the Lodge. My Daddy also says that my Grandma Johnston is a big fan of yours.

This year, I am a big girl, so I am writing you my christmas list. Also, since my Clyde Kitty, doesn't know how to write, I am sending you his list too.

These are the items that I wish I had, but it is ok if Rudolph can't carry them. My mommy says that things are not as important as character. But it sure would be fun to have these things.

9. A big girl chair to sit in (not to be brand-picky, but maybe Pottery Barn for kids?)
10. A accoustic guitar for my daddy, so he can sing me funny songs

Please do not bring me any movies or dvds becuase my television viewing is still only an occaisional Teletubbie.

As for my clyde kitty, he needs:
1. another pull string mouse so he and I can continue to play
2. he also likes other kitty treats, but maybe the diet kind because he is getting a little chubby

Melina

It finally happened... I have heard stories of children doing this as part of their daily ritual, but I guess I assumed that if Melina hadn't done this in 16 months, we were in the clear.

I'm talking about poop in the tub.

I ran Mel a bath this morning after finishing my shower. She was splashing along, playing with ducky in the shallow end, so I thought I could sneak in a shave. How wrong I was. As soon as I got all lathered up, I noticed the familiar red face and tongue sticking out (a la Michael Jordan) that indicates a massive poo is coming.

I yelled to Sharon for an assist, and tried to grab Mel up in her towel, but it was too late. Poo in the tub.

Needless to say, chaos ensued. After we got Mel out and cleaned up, we did the whole biohazard routine with the tub. After everyone and everything was disinfected, and we were all dressed, Mel and I dashed of to tumbling. We were only a couple of minutes late, do the morning wasn't a total loss :)
